As winter sets in, so do winter sports, particularly basketball. Stratford’s entrance into the Private School Athletic League (PSAL) and its recognition as a full member of the Central Coast Section (CCS) allows for the team to participate in playoffs and championships, a great opportunity for the players and for the school in general. With this comes the chance to secure Stratford’s legacy in basketball as well as other sports! Regarding the basketball season so far, the middle school boys basketball team has been selected. There are three teams for middle school, an A, B, and C team. They will have their matches in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the high school boys team has a confirmed 17 players, many of whom are returners from last year! They will have their first game against Khan Academy when we are back from Thanksgiving break. The high school girls, unfortunately, won’t have a team this year, but hopefully we will see them back on the court next year. So, go show your team spirit by supporting our teams during their home games in the gym! Go Lions!
