Drama Club is off to a great start! After the auditions on the first week of school, students got accepted into the club, with some getting callbacks for roles. This year Drama Club is performing "Descendants the Musical”, which is about the descendants (Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay) of iconic Disney characters like Maleficent, Jafar, Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, Beauty and the Beast, the dwarfs from “Snow White” etc, and how they go on a quest to steal the Fairy Godmother’s wand, but end up becoming good people. The club, having two casts, will perform early March, learning and rehearsing the play from now until show time. To add, this year there are some additional roles for helping the show run. Stage crew, a crucial part of the production, has two managers this year (one returning from last year): Hannah Lake and Kaylee Mai. To add, Aania Powar is the assistant choreographer this year, and Aditi Athreya and Freya Johansson are choreography coaches. Finally, Surabhi Baheti is the vocal coach, helping fellow cast members with singing. Thank you to Ms. Zankewicz, Ms. Brenna, and Dr. Suba for your dedication to make this year’s drama club amazing as it was in the previous years!
