Kelly Hu (9th Grade) and Apollo Grimes
(11th Grade), two talented SPB students,
earned impressive honors at the Coast
Forensic League Congress 1 Tournament.
Apollo was named Best Presiding Officer
in his group for his outstanding
leadership and skill in managing the
debate proceedings. His ability to
facilitate discussions while ensuring fair
and effective debate earned him high
praise from judges and peers alike. Kelly,
competing in a highly competitive field,
took 3rd place in her group,
demonstrating her strong public speaking, quick thinking, and ability to argue effectively under pressure.
Both students excelled in the Congressional Debate format, impressing
with their research, eloquence, and ability to navigate complex issues.
Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the
support of their coaches. The tournament marks a promising start for
the 2024-2025 Speech and Debate season.
