"As we witnessed last year with significant inland flooding from hurricanes Helene and Debby, the impacts of hurricanes can reach far beyond coastal communities," addressed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) director, Laura Grimn.

Hurricane Gabrielle currently sustains 140 miles per hour as of Monday, September 22. Located just southeast of Bermuda, Hurricane Gabrielle is forecasted to sweep Azores, the archipelago of Portugal. Civilians are urged to evacuate the volcanic region of Azores, meanwhile, on the east coast of the United States, Hurricane Gabrielle causes life-threatening rip-currents upward from North Carolina. “Board up windows, bring in outside items that could become flying projectiles, and stock up on extra fuel,” suggests Chief Meteorologist of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety(IBHS), Rachel Gauthier. As of Thursday, September 25 Hurricane Gabrielle is located in the North-Atlantic Ocean, 250 miles off the coast of Azores and 850 miles off the coast of mainland Portugal.
