The middle school FLL robotics team is rising to the top, showing our school as a major robotics team in the entire country. Our team consists of 10 students, and our FLLR coach: Mr. Chu. The challenge is to build a robot that can navigate a table and activate contraptions to achieve a certain goal. Each of these contraptions will each count for a certain number of points. Nationally, the tests will be scored on points, time, etc.
The question is: how far have we gotten? Field setup and all contraptions have already been completed. We are currently working on the robot design and build. Next, we will work on the main part of the project - the program. The robot has to be instructed in a certain way to use sensor collaboration for obstacle avoidance, power differential, and finally – complete the missions.
To wrap it all up: The FLL robotics team is working hard and moving through missions at a steady pace. Eventually, by Spring, our robot will be built, and at the local Silicon Valley First Lego League Testing Center, we will test our robot. If we do pass this test, we will move on to the national finals to represent Stratford at the First Lego League Challenge. Though many events are uncertain, from the way progress is moving, we might be the future team to represent the Stratford School at the nation's main robotics competition.
